HESPERIA, California (VVNG.com) – Two people were transferred by helicopter to trauma centers after an accident when they overturned on the I-15 highway in the north in Hesperia.
It happened just before 5:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 14, 2022, on Ranchero Road off the ramp.
For as yet unknown reasons, a Toyota 4Runner carrying four adults crashed into an embankment and overturned an unknown number of times before stopping on the roof.
Firefighters from San Bernardino County responded to the accident and demanded that two helicopters land at the scene. Firefighters helped remove the passengers from the damaged SUV.
California Highway Patrol officers from Victorville Station helped shut down the outlet. Mercy Air and Reach helicopters landed safely and then transported two people to trauma centers outside the area. The other two adults were transported by land ambulance to local hospitals.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call CHP-Victorville at 760-241-1186.
