This month, Irwin’s students promised to read for six minutes to save their heads and help their mental health.
Young people from the Royal Irwin Academy are making a promise – reading helps mental health by almost 70 percent.
A spokesman for the Royal Irvine Academy said: “As Maya and Kyle show, we support #KeepTheHeid on Wednesday at the Royal Irvine Academy, promising to read within six minutes.
“That’s all it takes to strengthen our mental health by 68 percent.
“Anyone in our wider school community can join us, promise at http://keeptheheid.scot.”
To celebrate the power of reading, libraries, and good mental health, you are asked to set aside six minutes on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, and dedicate them to reading.
To mark the year 2022 of Scottish history, libraries are hosting a wonderful distribution of books as part of the Keep the Heid and Read!
To support the Reading Minute, local libraries in Scotland will host contests and prize draws.
