APPLE VALLEY, California (VVNG.com) – A man killed after catapulting in an accident on Mother’s Day has been identified as a 70-year-old Las Vegas resident.
It happened on Sunday, May 8, 2022, just before 7:00 a.m., along I-15 Highway South, near Wild Wash Road off the ramp.
For as yet unknown reasons, the driver of a white Toyota Tundra lost control causing the truck to overturn several times before stopping in the desert along the north side of the highway.
Ambulance staff responded to the incident and requested a helicopter to transport the person with critical injuries to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
The coroner said the passenger was identified as Lucio Parada-Becerra was pronounced dead on the spot.
According to CHP incident records, about 100 feet of the perimeter fence were damaged when the vehicle derailed.
Victorville CHP station is conducting a crash investigation.
