UPDATE @ 11:30 AM – Sheriff’s officials said that the incident in which a 13-year-old man and a 14-year-old man participated happened in the desert area that surrounds the shopping center.
“While he was in the desert, a 13-year-old boy fired a gun. The bullet hit the shooter in his arm, and upon exiting it hit the 14-year-old boy in the lower body. “The deputies located the gun on the spot,” sheriff’s officials said in a press release.
Both boys were transported to local hospitals where they received medical treatment for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

VICTORVILLE, California (VVNG.com) – Two people were injured in a shooting near Victorville Walmart on Monday morning.
Shortly after 7:40 a.m. on May 16, 2022, Victorville police received reports of two people shot near Walmart located at 11896 Amargosa Road near Bear Valley Road.
According to Walmart employee, who wished to remain anonymous, the man ran into the store saying he had been shot and was visibly bleeding for help.
The helicopter was asked to land in an empty field near the Walmart shopping center to transport one person to the trauma center.
Another person with minor injuries was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Deputies focused their investigation on the field between Walmart and Kohls. Deputies pulled out a gun believed to have been used in the incident.
The exact circumstances of the shooting are not immediately known.
Sheriff’s officials told VVNG that it was not clear at this time who the killer was, and the incident took place in a desert area near Walmart, not in a store. Officials said the victim’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening and that there was nothing more to publish at the moment.
